Overnight Harrogate
Best thing about this stop was a visit to the authentic Turkish Bath - since it was strangely cold and damp that day...
The British Toy Convention was meeting at the Hotel - so we were greeted by a mascot in our room... |
Outside an Edwardian Megalith - inside a plain but spacious crash-pad... |

Leland contemplative, yet jaunty... |
English Lakes Mood at the Hotel |
A drive to Wales - Where we took but three photos - none of which were as interesting as the country itself! Returning towards England we found ourselves in a sort of Twilight Zone vortex of soulless industrial weirdness called Pontypool...
Wales # 1 |
Wales #2 - ruin from car window |
B & B where we stayed during visit |

The Gate. As we were milling about outside a woman (admissions attendant) appears and informs the castle is closed for another hour but decides to let us in anyway! |
Only interior space that is reconstructed... |
We suddenly began to feel very familiar in the ruin - was it another Life? |
As we walked down ancient foot paths within the walls, we encountered an old caretaker woman with a scraggly broom. She bowed slightly to us as though she were a servant. |
A face emerges...we heard a lot of voices in this castle... |
Tintern Abbey and Surrounds...
The magical ruins... |
Parish Church of St. Michaels - Tintern - connected to mysteries surrounding Dr. John Dee & Sir Francis Bacon... |

England - Green |
River Wye - Above Tintern |
We walk in woods above Tintern and find this and other evidences of present day Druids... |

Under trees... |
Wonderful Druid branch constructions here and there... |
We leave a message to the Druids... |
Local pub... |
English interior design is often wacky - this room,at The Tintern Rectory B&B, was a
combination of Wendy's bedroom (from peter Pan) and Fox hunting
motifs... |
